Saturday Morning Science educates budding scientists of all ages

logoEnjoying good conversation is a part of life. Now, University of Missouri-Columbia scientists want to share what they have learned about the conversations of bugs found in the typical backyard as part of a series of free talks on science.

Saturday Morning Science, a series of free lectures for people of all ages who do not have extensive science knowledge, begins its second year on January 28, 2006. Topics include Climate, Climate Change, and Hurricanes; What the Bugs in Your Backyard Talk About; and Where Did HIV Come From?

Saturday Morning Science is aimed at anyone who has some interest in science—no science background required! This is an opportunity for scientists at MU to share their enthusiasm and to explain what they are up to in their research, and for anyone who wants to know a bit more about science. Lectures are Saturday mornings, 10:30-11:30 a.m., in the Life Sciences Building auditorium on College Avenue.

The series co-organizers are Wouter Montfrooij, assistant professor of Physics, and Bruce McClure, associate professor of Biochemistry.
