A&S faculty recognized for research and teaching

Six Arts and Science faculty members are among those honored by the University of Missouri-Columbia as recipients of the 2007 campus faculty recognition awards. Congratulations!

Provost Outstanding Junior Faculty Research and Creative Activity Award
This award gives special recognition to junior faculty, who are in the early phases of their careers, for superior research and creative activity at MU.

Maxine Christopher Shutz Award and Lecture for Distinguished Teaching
Through the generosity of the late Byron T. and Maxine Christopher Shutz, an endowment was established in 1982 to recognize distinguished teachers from the Columbia campus. The award is presented to a faculty member who has demonstrated extra efforts to involve undergraduates in active learning experiences and to personalize the undergraduate experience of students.

The Junior Faculty Teaching Award recognizes faculty for superior teaching and advising at MU. This year Arts and Science faculty received all three awards.
