Fourth Annual BioBlitz
September 7 - September 8, 2007
5:00 p.m., Friday - 5:00 p.m., Saturday
MU's Conservation Biology program and the College of Arts and Science will host the Fourth Annual BioBlitz. This free, 24-hour race encourages individuals to identify as many species of plants, fungi and animals as possible within a designated area. Additional activities include educational displays, a closing ceremony and picnic. BioBlitz's purpose is to increase public awareness and knowledge of Columbia’s wildlife through hands-on experiences.
Participants will meet team leaders at the base camp - Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Garden on Stadium Blvd. between Providence Road and Forum Blvd. - and pick up their race numbers. The main event will take place on approximately 900 acres of Flatbranch Watershed.
All participants must register prior to the event at http://bioblitz.missouri.edu where complete walk schedules also are available.
